Canvas Wall

I had a big empty wall that had been really bugging me. I decided I needed to do something creative.

I found some inspiration on pinterest and put my own twist on it.

I wanted to do it as cheap as possible so instead of getting professional canvas made I did it all myself.

I started by printing out my favorite pictures of each of my kids.

Next, I went to Michael's and bought foam poster boards and spray adhesive. I placed the pictures on the board, traced them and cut the board.

On the back of each board I screwed in round hooks and wires. I would suggest to put a tiny dot of glue on them to keep them in.

Then I sprayed each board with adhesive and carefully placed the picture.

After they were all dry I just had to figure out how to place them on the wall and that was it.

I got the vinyl letters from Family Dollar for 3 bucks!!

Love Frame

I wanted to make a really from-the-heart gift for my mom for Mothers Day. So the kids and I decided to make something special.

I had each kid hold one letter to spell out love, took their picture in black and white, printed them out and put them in a frame. Very easy and thoughtful gift.

My family

I think I should introduce my family. Below are some of my favorite pictures.

The first picture is of my two oldest daughters Julie and Tiahma. That is my all time favorite picture.

Next is Shaylah, she is 16 months old and the happiest baby I have ever met. Her only bad days are when she teething.

Then this is a photo of everyone(minus myself). The man-boy John, Robbie-Lynn, Julie, Shaylah, and Tiahma.

Next photo is Julie and her daddy. I feel their love every time I look at it.

Then, this picture is of Robbie-Lynn. She's only 4 months old but she really has a great personality already. Always smiling.

Next, is a picture of Tiahma before her first softball game. This is her first year and she loves it! I hope she sticks to it.

That's Julie on a quad. Her crazy personality really shines through! She is my little 'tomboy.'

Next picture is the two oldest with their dad on our trip to the Philadelphia Zoo last summer. That was one of Julie's birthday surprises. We all loved it and will go back soon.

Last, Julie and Tiahma wanted to have a photo shoot but couldn't keep a straight face the whole time. I still love the picture though.

So there you have it! The 5 loves of my life. John, Tiahma, Juliauna, Shaylah and Robbie-Lynn. I love them all so very much. They totally make life worth living.

Gallery Wall

I decided to do a gallery wall after seeing all the beautiful walls on Pinterest. It is cute and fun looking. My favorite part about a gallery wall is there are no rules. You just slap random items up on the wall and you're done! That seems easy enough.

After about 4 months of looking at a lot of blogs and pinning tons of inspiration photos, I was finally ready to go shopping for my "random items."

Since I can't figure out how to add photos in the middle of a blog I will explain each item here and just scroll down to see the picture.

First, I bought 4-11x4 black frames from Michaels. They were on sale for 3 dollars! Then, I bought a heart, star, cross and a big set of skeleton keys. All of those items were also from Michaels. The board with the Fleur design I made using a piece of scrap wood. I painted it black and added the stencil in gray. I made the frame with 'love' in it as well. Next, I found some free printables and put them in the frames.

The eye chart is really cool. You can use any words you want. In this case I use the names of everyone in my family. It's from a website called I-see.org

The House of 6 printable is from tipjunkie.com.

Here's how I did my wall.
I used newspaper which I traced the shape of each object then I cut it out. I taped it all up on the wall and moved everything until it felt 'right.'

Then I just put nails into the walls right through the paper and hung the stuff. It was really simple and fun.

Here are all the pictures.

Changing Table Makeover

My S-I-L had a wooden changing table she was going to toss to the curb. When I heard this I immediately said "no no no let me take it. I will make it beautiful." After I got it home I knew exactly what I was going to do with it.

I knew I wanted it to be black and I knew it definitely needed new hardware.

So I got to work.

I also added a little stencil to the door.
What I did was use a clear glaze so the stencil shows in a certain light.

Here's the before and after:
Sorry for the grainy quality of the before picture.
I think it turned out great!

First Furniture Makeover

So, I couldn't decide if I want to start out with a small project or a big one. Well, why not start out with a big project? My first furniture makeover! Now keep in mind I am no professional. This is just a hobby. I am just starting out but, I am getting better at it!

Ok, so here is a dresser that was sitting on the side of the road. My grandfather picked it up for me about 3 years ago. It was ugly! It's very functional though because of my very limited closet space. Sadly, it stayed this ugly until about 2 months ago when I just couldn't take it anymore.

I filled in the holes with some wood filler, sanded it down real good, painted it black, and added some new hardware. I think she looks pretty good now. I added some accessories and now it's a cute hallway dresser.

Ok, it's my first project and remember, I'm no professional. I think it's cute!

Hardware is from Lowes
Sunburst Mirror-Family Dollar!
Vase- Family Dollar
Map- That was in a Video game case(sky rim) lol

Ok so here's the before and after.
I do apologize if this is the worst blog post ever but, I am still learning.
